Yes a Smashing Pumpkins track I know. But there is something in the name of this song that is timeless none the same and can describe the bond between friends. I was enjoying an iced coffee at the local Starbucks when I realized that there are the friends that will always be there, the comrades if you will.

There are people in this world that I will share memories with, that when we are old can laugh and say that was a crazy night. This is an idea that is quite young in my mind (in the last five years or so) and is something that I hold onto dearly. Many of the people that were in high school with me I will never see again. I look forward to being the old man in the coffee shop to meet my friends, those people that will be there although there was not a formal agreement to meet. It just happens.

I’m getting all emotional now just thinking about it. Tonight I was talking with my very good comrade, Alex and even though we have been friends only 3 years he is a guy that will never be a stranger and wherever he is in this world we will always be close. We were reminiscing on the crazy shenanigans we would find ourselves in, not all were remembered to a T but we can make stuff up, and sometimes it just makes the stories even better. Anyway. I don’t know why I’m writing this. I just love my friends. Murph, Vang, Chan, DJ Greg, you guys will always be my entourage.
