Here and now, the leaves are dying
I can hear them
Yes they scream out to me
That means colors for the kiddos
To jump and play around in
Although the trees see a different side
To this bittersweet tale
They are naked and bare
For at least the next four months
Their souls are open
And their teeth are chattering
My heart sinks
Wanting them to be clothed once more.
